Bisbee Arizona December 2010 Copper mining is big in Bisbee. The are seven large vertical shafts, each with it's own massive steel headframe. Five shafts have complete complexes around them. They're supposed to all be interconnected. There is also a huge open pit, giant dumps and remains of a huge mill. The mines are currently dormant and owned by Freeport-McMoRan. Security is very tight. |
